Well, all of this renewed interest in headlights has got me working on the project again...

I have tried a bunch of things to get the headlight apart and nothing has worked, so I took the brute force approach on one of the headlights I damaged in a previous attempt...

Using an air saw, I cut the lens off the headlight assembly... here's the results so far

I didn't use color match paint, just regular rattle can spray, that's why the colors don't match...

Still not sure I like it enough to bother going forward. The rubber trim ring around the outside bothers me... I need to figure out a way to get the lens off without destroying it, or a way to make new lexan lenses

If I do go forward, I'll likely do body color projector HID headlights with clear corner reflectors and angel eye rings...

Stay tuned for more on this...

Don't hate me yet... it's very preliminary... there is no lens on that headlight... haven't quite figured out what to do about the lens yet..

I do have some ideas though Smile

I really like it! But where the hell do you get all those fixtures? They're like $275 OEM.

His dog ran away and didn't come back for a few hours on the first fire up too. It was awesome.

They won't go back together... I'll likely make new lenses... have some other posibilities up my sleeve as well

Not from them.... they are using non-name brand stuff and from everything I have read about them on the Net (and other members have sent me), they have a less than stellar reputation... I'm not willing to take the chance with a car fire.

When it comes to HID, you get what you pay for...

If I go projector, their kit is useless anyway

The 3rd brake light is on indefinite hold....

I replied to your email on the bulbs... yes, I do have a few sets left...

Even if I get this to the point where I am happy with it, I am not sure I will be doing it for others... we'll see

Im really intrested in this, specifically in the HID conversion part, now to make it a projecter you have to put a lense in the holes, or sockets. so with the lens you wouldnt need a glass cover or you would irelevent of it?

And how would you go about getting the lenses for our headlight assembly? assuming we will be making it projecter style.

Anyways good luck, looks killer, and paint the rubber around the headlights white too.

Shock & Awe

WTF is an air saw?

Kinda sucks tho, I already have a black car, so it wont make much of a difference with me, but it would a little.

If you do get this finished, with all the bells and wistles like you said, or even just some of them, you know i'm game.

Man that must be a lot of work.
