Before you post your window tint questions in a new thread, please read the following tips:

Do It Yourself?
For heaven's sake - DON'T DO IT YOURSELF! Don't trust us? Fine, go ahead and do it, you'll hate it. Unless of course you like that purple bubbled look.

Percentage
A tints percentage is rated for how much light will pass through the window. The lower the percentage, the lower percentage of light will pass through, thus - darker. Also, the tint is not about how much light is lets in, rather, how much light is lets out.

Types
There are all different types of tint. Some have metals in the tint, which can give it a metallic reflective look (not to be confused with mirror tint), while other tints look like plastics. Because of the materials in the tint, and the way it reacts to the sun over time, some tints offer a lifetime guarantee while others do not.

The important part to keep in mind here about the types of tint is that not all percentages are the same across all different types of tint. This means that a 30% tint on a window with one type of tint may appear to be lighter/darker than the same percentage on the same window with a different type.

Because of all of this, you'll need to go to your local tint shop and look at what they offer.

Window Size
One factor many people forget about is their window size. The Impala has large windows, and thus to achieve a darker look (compared to a car with smaller windows) you'd need a smaller percentage tint.

What looks good
The point of getting your windows tinted shouldn't be about what other people want on your car - so please don't ask - we don't care. What's the most popular options? Usually the same tint (30%) all the way around (except for the windshield [which is illegal in all 50 states], you cannot have any tint on the widnshield). Search in the care care forums here, and you'll find plenty of examples.
