2004 Chevrolet Impala

PostPosted: Thu May 11, 2017 1:13 am    Post subject:  2004 Impala issues Reply with quote

I bought a 2004 Impala just recently and i have noticed the traction active light comes on even when it seems I dont need added traction, and at times the message center will tell me to service the traction, plus security light will come on while I'm driving.
Any solutions or advice?

Get it scanned. Beyond that, it's very common for the sensor wire harnesses on the front control arms to go bad from the wheels turning all the time and the harness flexing.

It's either the wheel hubs or the ABS harnesses. I recently replaced both on my 2004 and that cleared up the traction issue.

This was the EXACT problem on my car. While my car does not have traction control, my ABS lite came on. Changing both harnesses cleared this up. Did the right one first, & the lite went out, but 3 weeks later, the lite came on again, so changed the left harness, & the lite never came back. That was 2-3 years ago. Common problem. GARY

Mine did the same many times..Got tired of repairing the wire. Just replace with a Dorman one now.
