Its been fighting the trans bug since last summer. Stop and go traffic, it gets hot and feels like the Torque Convertor is locking up at low speed and bucking. I dropped the pan and changed the fluid to no avail.
Fresh off a 150mi round trip to Niagara Falls and Back for work last week it smelled funny and hot when I parked it.

Wife got in the next morning to head to work and made it about 3 miles / 5 kms, light turned green at the intersection and the engine willing revved but no engagement. She called me from the curb and when there was a clearing in the traffic a few mins later she went back to get her purse. Tried again and the car took off as far as the gas station on the corner. By the time I got there to pick her up it cooled off enough for me to limp it to work.

I know its likely a sensor but the trans was rebuilt appx 5 years ago. Its just not worth dumping $1200 into an $800 car. Without my own garage its not worth even putting a used trans IMO.

If anybody needs parts in the GTA for a base 3.4 white impala let me know. Good winter tires on it now. Will be selling both sets of summer wheels on Kijiji.
Wife's a little beat up about it. My son ( now 15 ) was 3 when we got it and he's a little attached as well.

Pretty sure I am going to buy her a 2014 Camry XLE. Fresh lease turn in from the same leasing company I got the Impala from.
$16k, loaded with nav, backup cam, leather 3.5 v6. Damn 14.6 in the 1/4 and good fuel economy.

I DD an 03 Safari and my summer car is an 84 Monte. I don't know what to do with all the Tech in the Camry. My son knows more about it than I do.
