Well I picked up a 2nd impala 3800 car with 125k on it. Coolant elbows failed and took the head gaskets out for the previous owner. I did the head gaskets and 80 miles later the main bearings gave out.

So needless to say I've seen the 3800 head gasket failure that is so rare. And...I'm on the quest for a low mileage cheap motor.

Found one in my price range yesterday with comparable miles. If your in Michigan. Give Freeman Auto Salvage a call. These guys treated me so well and gave me the best deal around.

Some of them are misdiagnosed. So check the coolant elbows and intake gasket first. You might just get luck.

its a salvage title . not fixable door hit on the rear. and they changed a lot of parts on it. from a SS impala, frankenstein car

im going to completely strip the car to a bare frame and sell the parts and scrap the chassis... i might see the car today .. i may hang onto the engine as well. if its just the coolant elbows
