I found a almost new impala with only 29,000 miles on it 2004

http://losangeles.craigslist.o.....51791.html

should i fix mine or buy that low mileage car

The only down side is the car is salvaged out aka insurance claimed car

it has no fog lights on it though

this is a option i like to have

they wanted $2,900 for it it's going to be 3400-3500 with plates, tags etc..

it will cost 2700ish to fix my current car with 177,180 miles + smog+registration passed due 79$ (have it on non-op) so that add a extra 120$

transmission repair ( had rebuild at 128k) and lower motor mounts leaking oil pan (replace it a few years ago)...

cars that sit can have just as many problems if not more problems...Its probably got the low mileage on the chassis, but the engine and trans have just as many miles as yours.

Inspecting the car is good in any buying situation. Also, think of it this way, the car isn't being driven daily so the problems it could have won't show up for a while.

On a car this old there's a ton of reasons they would have totalled the car out that aren't necessarily deal-breakers. If there was a mild front end hit that bent the bumper and popped both airbags, that could easily total a car worth maybe $3000.

I'd have a look at it at least, but be skeptical.
