3.8 has lifter tick on Start up few minutes down the road it goes away, tried using additives but didn't work. Looking to replace them as I have to do the valve cover gaskets as the front is leaking. Is there any special tool needed for the job or is it pretty straight forward. Car has 209K and is my winter car now. Thanks

You still work at the dealership? Have a quote on new ones? A full set? Thanks!

Its just one more step past the doing the intake. If you have never done the lower intake the clean up of the surfaces and bolt holes takes longer than it does to do the actual job.
