So one of the first things I noticed about my 04 SS is that it doesn't whine, at all really. I've never heard of a "silent" supercharger so I'm wondering what the reason is. I still get boost and I can feel this thing move when I'm on it, so I'd like to know what you guys think the cause could be. Would there be a problem with the SC? I really want to get this fixed so I can hear the whine a supercharged car is supposed to have Laughing

its a small supercharger with a large pulley.

Do the supporting mods and drop the pulley down to at least a 3.4" and she'll start screaming

Interesting, I thought I had a problem on my hands Laughing Thanks Pitch. Believe me, modding is definitely in store for this bad boy Twisted Evil I don't know if I plan to go as far as installing an intercooler, but my "to-mod-list" includes:
ZZP tuned pcm
180 t stat
Colder plugs,
Smaller SC pulley
3" downpipe
4" FWI CAI
U-bend delete (if I don't go with a magnaflow cat back)
Considering headers but those will have to be put on hold for a bit
And maybe an oversized aluminum radiator to aid in cooling
With these mods, would 3.4 be the smallest pulley i can run safely with no KR on 91 octane?

Ubend comes with the downpipe.

After all the stuff is done, you can scan to see if KR is at 0, then you can drop the pulley. But what you have sounds good.

Id add ported manifolds or a powerlog to the list prior to pulley drop. Headers would be best

And headers come with a DP, so it isnt as costly as you think

Oh and I forgot to add the 72mm throttle body along with porting manifold and supercharger too. So if the headers come with the downpipe and that takes care of the u bend, then things got simpler Very Happy Thanks again, Pitch. Can't wait to save up the money for all this so I can buy all the parts at once and start the fun

When I did mine, I had it all done at a Grand Prix mod day in Connecticut. Lets just say, the drive home back to NY was a blast.

So my next mod is definitely a CAI. I've been looking at buying the K&N 57-3045 kit, just waiting to settle other priorities and the enhanced breathing/whining begins Laughing afterwards I plan to do a full exhaust to complete the airflow mods. Then comes supporting mods for a smaller pulley Twisted Evil

I don't mind the suction noise at start-up, I have that on my base model and i think it sounds neat Razz Thanks for the input, guys Very Happy

Dont waste your money on K&N. You can buy better systems for cheaper through W-Body vendors or can make your own.

K&N's heat shield is a joke, doesnt stop any hot air from hitting the filter. So you're just paying for an overprices tube and filter

Plus I don't think our cars like oiled filters anyway.

I would have to agree on that.
