2004 Chevrolet Impala

..And I forgot to move the cars inside!

Mother Nature's wind tunnel redesigned a 04 Impala Laughing I like GM's version better!

Bad phone pic, but the drifts along the drivers side were just below the beltline of the car. I had to shovel just to get the door open! Thats my big ugly Dodge Ram behind it with the snow halfway up the front bumper. Local news said we got 12" of snow. I measured the drift on the roof of the Impala & got 29" at the highest point. Pretty cool huh?

That's pretty cool.

I think that'd be more snow than I've seen cumulatively my whole life. Shocked

After last winter in Minnesota, this winter has been an absolute dream. We have had a total of maybe 8-9" of the white-stuff the entire winter. Last year at this time, we were measuring in feet.

Of course, now that I've said that...

Ok, I'm gonna show my dumb side: in the case where it snows and cars are buried like PITCH's and QuickNick, how the hell do you even move your car? If you even can. I've never lived in snow, California hasn't given us any snow in over a decade Crying or Very sad

simple, dig it out and drive it.

I dont mind the snow, in fact I love it. Thats why I stay here and dont move south.

BTW, my driveway holds 17+ cars, so its a lot of digging.

Casually says "dig it out and drive it", I like that Laughing I feel like a bulldozer is the way to go here lol.
17+ cars in a driveway?! Shocked if that much snow fell here, tons of people would be upset, but things are different on opposite coasts I guess

Laughing Base!
I dont really drive my Imp in the winter. Think I've had it 4 years now & its seen snow twice, both this year since I bought a whole set of snow tires & wheels that have seen snow, well, twice Shocked In the "winter half" of the year Im in the big ugly 300+ zillion mile Ram. Most "car people" have dedicated summer toys & winter toys, they are much different. We have a few summer months to live it up so we go all out. The Imp isnt a summer toy but somehow has become something I throw parts at when I get bored in the winter, till I find a new toy Very Happy I'd be lucky to get 1/4 out of what I've put into it, but its there, sooo...Past winter projects have been a 1983 Dodge Challenger (yeah, they made em!), a 80 Z28 with new Vette money sank into it, a 85 Monte SS that should run 9's but hasnt made it out of storage yet, well, ya see!! I got pics of this junk on my homepage. (edit, no link, my fault! http://www.picturetrail.com/z28383 )

Another thing is emission laws. In Michigan, I can buy a new car, take it home, throw a Model T engine in it if I want & drive it daily if I feel like it. Not gonna happen on the west coast. Granted, I'll be going that way in the near future, but "emissions laws" will be as high on my list as property values, crime rates & schools. I'll take the warm weather any day-imagine all the projects I could almost finish then Embarassed

17 CARS?!? Shocked Shocked Shocked I'm assuming you don't actually have 17 cars, but that would be an impressive "driveway" to see. Smile

just 4

Its 220' long. At the back I can fit 3 across and 3 deep. Then its single file for the next 150'

You lean how to back a car up in the dark very quickly living here. Its fun to watch others try. Its more fun to watch them watch me do it at speed....lol

I bet I could get 4 wide without having the doors open.

QuickNick: I'm jealous of the fact that you have a "build collection" Laughing I've always been a fan of the late 3rd gen camaros, I'm just in love with that body style. I know they receive hate for lack of stock performance, but I'd buy it for the looks, then maybe beef it up. A friend of mine has a 73 Monte Carlo claimed to be capable of obtaining sub 10 second times at the strip, but sadly began overheating and fried some wires Sad
But yea, of all places, here in California the laws are the worst in regards to emissions Mad

Pitch Black SS: At what speed do you back out of the driveway? Shocked I baco out of any place very slowly at night since my rear tint prevents me from getting too confident. Didn't think it'd be that hard to see out of at night when I had it installed Sad

I open the windows when backing out so I can use the mirrors.

As for speed, wide open if I want. Nothing like a good reverse burnout to start the morning.
