My 02 Ls 120 000miles has a very dangerous odd problem.

When I start it up everything seems fine and about five mins down the road randomly the red battery light will come on followed by the no traction control light and the loss in power steering, its almost like the shuts off. When I shut off and turn it over everthing seems fine again. and then it after a couple of mins it does again.

No engine codes no engine light its like it just decides to quit at ramdon weird I have no idea what to do with it.

I googled this issue and to my surprise it is actually common but I have found an definite resolve a lot of exspensive guessing any idea guys

I was actually planning on getting a new impala and storing this one for my 4 year old son our project car as he grows up but I will have to rethink this now!

Is the engine shutting off?

For the PS pump to stop turning, the belt needs to stop, so either the engine is shutting off or the belt is freezing. This would make the alternator stop also causing the battery light

Remove and clean the battery cable connectors, and clean the battery posts. Follow the negative battery cable and ensure the ground connection is clean and tight.

It sounds to me like the voltage regulator on the alternator is going south.
