A while ago I picked up a spare PCM at the local U-pick should I ever need it. The part # on it is correct for my car. Today I brought it to the dealer where I used to work, & the shop foreman programmed my vin into it. He said because it was in another car, it might have to go through a relearning process for a half hour. Can anyone elaborate on this? GARY

Like if you unhook your battery for a long period of time. the car has to learn the limits of the sensors ect, shift points ect. Should be completely transparent to you.

Ignore the years, it was never updated, its the same for 00-05 Impala and possibly 06+

Thanks for that. One last question. Should I disconnect the car battery when installing the PCM? GARY
