I'll try too explain the best I can on the situation.

I bought a new battery and alternator back in March. The alternator was bad right out of the box and my battery drained while driving it one day so I got it back to Advanced Auto where they just recharged it gave me a new alternator and sent me on my way. Recently when I cold start my car the interior lights and headlights are real dim. It's especially noticeable at night and my battery light came on.

So I went back up to Advanced to get a new battery under warranty. They checked the old battery, which is a 770 cca battery and it was putting out 939 cca and 12.88 volts. Why are the lights dim when I first start it up and the battery light on if it's supposed good battery? The guy there mention parasitic draw, but from what? Is there anything I should specifically look for? Any help is much appreciated as always.

Simply put you have bad body grounds. On your negative battery cable there should be a smaller and a larger wire follow the smaller one to the body, remove it and clean it and remove the paint/ corrosion from the body and bolt. Then apply a die-electric grease and reassemble. There is also 2 others on your inner front bumper just at the inner base of your headlights (you may have to remove the headlights to properly remove/clean them.) good luck!

Hell, that will work. Smile I noticed the chart is for the 3.8, is it pretty much the same for a 3.4?

Sounds great. I'll be going over this with a fine tooth comb tomorrow.

Okay, I guess I'll give an update even though this thread is from last year. Laughing

While cleaning out my car I noticed two plugs on the back window were unplugged. I hooked them back in and now my interior and exterior lights work as normal. Also my rear defroster works and I'm not getting crappy reception on my radio anymore. Very Happy
