2004 Chevrolet Impala

On the 8th, my car finally gave in and died. The transmission would fall out of gear after a few minutes of driving. Granted a rebuild would have saved the car, I didn't have the money to fix anything. Since it was my only vehicle, I needed to find something else rather quickly so I wouldn't lose my job. So it was time to call it quits and not put anymore money into it.

It's been a good 6 years. I bought the car with 26,000 miles on it and it just crossed over to 187,000. The car has stood its ground with everything I threw at it; races, 14 hour nonstop road trips to Canada, the abuse of being a daily driver, abuse from friends and family driving the car really hard or spilling food and drink everywhere. I called that car home for a few months when I got kicked out of my house. The car exceeded my expectations by a lot and I'm proud of it.

Throughout the years of being on this site, I notice people having all sorts of problems with their cars and I was expecting mine to have the same eventually. But it never happened. 187,000 miles on all original parts. Minus brakes, tires, wheel hubs and a battery. Everything else was the exact same and handled strong. It was only until last month did it start to leak oil from the pan.

I've bonded with the car very well and I'm going to miss it dearly. It was time.

I picked up a 2015 Chrysler 200 as a replacement. This car has some very large shoes to fill.
