Alright, two questions:

I couldn't find it after looking through several pages, and Search turned up nothing Sad

So where is the thermostat on the 3400?

Second - what in the hell is this brown crap??

looks like dried up coolant I'm not familiar with the 3400

Follow that hose to the engine and you will find it it's in the same spot as the 3800 engine

it very easy to change a lot of shops will charge about 200-250 what a scam you can do it your self for under 50$

The thermostat is located underneath the throttle body.

The red and black arrow points to the thermostat housing. You remove this and the thermostat is underneath.

So the best time to swap it would be when I swap the throttle body?
Is that all I have to remove? 'Cause I found the thermostat, looked at it, and said to myself, "well, I'm glad this new thermostat only cost me 10 bucks, 'cause it ain't getting installed" Laughing

that brown stuff looks alot like, and is in the same place as, some gold spray on adhesive they sprayed on that location in my 3400...
There was some moisture or something and they sprayed on some stuff that was "supposed to" seal up that gap to stop the moisture... Rolling Eyes

It worked... I guess... Never saw moisture there again..
(have no idea WTF the moisture was from) Confused
