have to get pictures but has anyone had a problem with the rear view mirror being ripped off and took a chunk of glass with it? while we where at the hospital with out newborn i let the mother inlaw take my car. only to have it returned and the mirror was broken off along with a part of the wind shield. i was so pissed and where they parked the car in the parking garage i ended up backing into a pole cause i did have my mirror. im completely at fault for backing into the pole but i was so side tracked i didnt even look behind me lucky it was just a pole and not another car

I recall that happening to me once in the 80s. I think I was able to still re-attach because the chuck of windshield was still attached to the mirror. I would not necessarily blame the MIL. Sounds like it was going to happen - just happened on her watch. Re pole, been there too.....in my 01 Tahoe - had a shop bang out the metal bumper, then stuck an American flag sticker over it. LOL.

yeah i ragged on her for a couple seconds and told her i dont blame her for it happening. been meaning to just reglue it and leave the glass attached to the mirror. but been driving my 91 v3500 cause its cooler. much much slower than most cars but it does have a cool factor as no one around has one

happened to my brother's 350Z years ago. Was replaced through insurance and the mirror ripped off on the way home. Insurance paid for the new replacement and blamed it on cheap window. They authorized a factory Nissan replacement and the glass company used a cheap Chinese one.
