Just put a new Pioneer 5000nex in my 03. Now the sound is flat, and i have to have the volume up high to hear it, and when I turn up the bass it is distorted. Still using the factory amp and speakers.
I did use a Pac RP5-GM11 interface with it and pluged the connections I used the factory amplified port on the interface. Dont know if I should try the non amp port on the interface since it is not a Bose amp. Any ideas?

I think most people end up bypassing the factory amp because it so crappy. Someone else will chime in, but I think that's your problem.

well I pulled it all apart and plugged the harness into the non amplified port on the interface box turned it on and it sounds 100 times better. So for those who are going to use a RP5-GM11 and have it a factory amp do not use factory amp port on the interface box.

I would appreciate it if you would keep the smart remarks to yourself!! I never said that it rattles my plate. It sounds good, never said that it is a high end sound system. It just sounded really bad with it hooked up incorrectly. Now it sounds like the factory radio, which for me is ok.

lol yes it wasnt even directed at impala but it might of included him. i understand wanted to thump but if the sheet metal in your truck rattles to the point you cant enjoy just the music thats what i find funny. i dont know the technical term for it but is you try to amp certain things like in the hospital the remote speakers if you turn them all the way up then turn the tv sound all the way up it distorts the sound you have to keep the original volume down and turn up the amp side
