I used WD40 on mine when it happened.
Liberal amounts inside while it is latched and again while not latched.
Then I jammed the buckle into, & out of, the opening a few times real hard.

I used the method you suggest Grape, but with 3-in-1 lubricant. Works a lot better now. Although the buckle doesn't "pop" out like it used too. Also the buckle didn't look bent thankfully. Thank you guys for the help!
