I want to put some agx struts in the rear in the next couple weeks.
Three questions: 1) what all do I need* with the agx's (new top plates, spring iso, boot kit...etc) also would I want anti-pogo washers if I'm not lowered?
2) should I replace the coils as well? It has the original FE4 coils on the back (95k on them) if not, what would be a good replacement for the FE4 coil. 3) it says on rock auto that the agx are for cars w/o 17" wheels. I've heard people say they've run them on their 04-05 SS with no problems. Any insight? Thanks.

I had the AGX's on my 04SS no issues. Ran them both with the factory 17's and aftermarket 18's

If the car isnt sagging, then the springs should be ok. But replacing just the rears may give you an undesired ride or handling

Thanks pitch, I thought I remembered you saying you ran them with no issues.
I forgot to mention I just replaced the front struts (under warranty) a month or 2 ago.

Now how about my first question, I definitely am replacing the top plates, how about the spring isolator and boot kit, do I need those as well? Anti pogo washers? Ive only ever replaced quick strut assemblys before.

As long as the boot and isolators are in decent shape (read: not torn or otherwise trashed) they can be reused without difficulty. No anti-pogo washers necessary unless you are lowered. I'd also second PBSS only putting AGXs on the back, I'm not sure I'd mix and match them with a non adjustable strut on the front.

So you wouldn't recommend mixing the agx with standard struts you say. I would love to get agx all the way around, but maybe Since the fronts are brand new I should just get some standard rears.

How abouth these two, I know the gr-2 are a great option according to feedback on here. How about the Delcos? I like the look of a high rear end, and want to keep it close as possible (or upgraded) from Original FE 4

KYB Part # 339148 ($67 each on rock auto)
GR-2 / Excel-G
Rear; w/ 17 inch or 18 inch Wheels

ACDELCO Part # 506269 ($81 each on rock auto)
{#88983864} OES
Rear; w/Special Susp(FE4) (Only 2 Remaining)
