We just had about 4 inches of rain this weekend. Driving the car today produced several drops of water on my head. It appears to be coming from the leading edge of the headliner where the sunroof is, so I suspect the sunroof leaked a little in the heavy rain. It has never leaked before. Are there drain holes around the sunroof? Where are they and can they be cleaned out? 2001 Impala LS. Thanks!

In that same storm, I received 5.6 inches of rain.
I think the magnitude of the storm was the primary factor in causing the leak. See what happens after the next normal rainfall event.

I believe the drain tubes are in two of the corners of the sun roof tray (for lack of a better explanation). I pulled some leaves out and saw a few holes on the Monte a few years back and wondered what they were. Must have been the drains.

As IffyG said, there are drain holes up there and there is also a drain hose that I believe goes into the trunk and then out of the car

Was a crazy storm, I ended up with just about 6" of snow after all that rain and Im only a few miles east of you

it has 4 drains

two in the front and two in the back

the two exit points for the front are in the door area with 1/4" hoses
in between the
front doors

no rear exit point

it just flowed to the front exit...

Ideally anyone with a sunroof should park down hill facing rather up hill when it rains...

OK... I think I will blow some compressed air into those exit points and see what comes out.
