( Mods-If this is in the wrong section feel free to move it!)

The airbag light has been on in my car since I got it. I do know it was in an accident before I got it-bad bodywork & repaint on a passengers door, rear bumper mounts tweaked & some scrapes on the underside prove it.

How do I diagnose what is causing the light to come on? To be honest, never worked on an airbag problem before. I dont see any evidence of the airbags deploying but that might not matter. I have different code scanners but none of them check the airbags. I have looked around & dont see any wires clearly loose or unplugged.

Is my only option to take it somewhere that has the proper scan tools to check it out so I can fix it? Thats kind of against my religion Laughing BUT that darn red light on the dash is getting to me! Better yet, is this something a dealer could point me to by just scanning it or is it something that will take more work to find?
Thanks for any ideas.

I think they replaced the air bag with confetti

bad sensor or faulty air bag you would have to check with special obd scanner for air bags
