I know car bra's arent cool anymore Embarassed
but...My Imp wont be getting new paint until next winter, plus I'm driving the wheels off it this summer! To add to it, I have a new rear bumper that isnt painted yet & makes the whole car look like a multi-colored beater-

I was thinking..never a good thing...If I add a bra to the front it might "balance out" the front & rear (black bumper) & make it look a little more "presentable??" (its on jackstands & wheel dollies, thats why it has a 4x4 stance). Theres nothing major wrong with the front bumper other than normal scuffs, but its a base model & I'd like to add the "driving light" bumper before painting it. All in all, the front bumper & the bra would be gone after this summer (hood also if I ever get around to making a small cowl hood) but I'm more worried about looking cool Cool than long term for this summer.

Amazon has a Lebra for about $70. Is it worth it even bothering with?

I vote no on the bra. The car doesn't look that bad as it is.
(I envy the lighting in your garage.)

Why bother? Unless you really care what it looks like, I'd let it be and wait for the paint job. No sense in pissing money away on a temporary solution.

^^ +1. It just looks like a 'work in progress' type car is all.

Thanks! You all convinced me to skip the bra. Might give the car a complex anyways Laughing

My dirty garage..dont look too close or you'll see I REALLY need to do some spring cleaning! Those are T-8 Sylvania "daylight" bulbs-not good for photos.

Not to get off topic, but I just replaced 6 banks (4 bulbs each/24 bulbs total, 32-42 watts each) of old T-12 lights with new "2 light fixtures" using T-8 bulbs (12 bulbs total). The light output is literally night & day, plus an immediate reduction in power consumption & electric bill. I'm a LED nut, this is the only area of the house without LED's so its in the very near future. The T-12 to T-8 swap really lit it up & was cheap, hoping the LED conversion will be even better...I may never shut off the lights! Its an odd garage, its a standard 2 1/2 car garage but its tucked behind the house so it only has 1 door. Annyoing to say the least!

You just made me cringe. I think I had seen 'em more on G-bodies than Mustangs back in the day, usually a Monte SS.

They're gonna stop making T-12's before long,anyway...so that's a good move.
Most of what I/we install now are T5's...but have retrofitted many from T12 to T8.
I would also look into getting an "occupancy sensor" switch...so,if you leave for a few and don't return for whatever reason, they'll shut off,yet they can be controlled manually,as well. Not that expensive either. But you would, more than likely, need a neutral at the switch. You may already have that, depending on how the garage was wired. Matter of fact,if you want one,I'll send it/throw it in with the pending shipment. Just PM me.

Don't know how sharp you are with electrical, but if you need any help... Wink
