I had the day off work, got bored & whipped up a CAI for my 04' 3.4 with some tips from here Big Thumbs Up No pics since we've seen them all!

About the PCM tray..

Mizley has one fro $19-
http://www.milzymotorsports.co.....-vehicles/

GMParts direct has one for $14ish but I'm not cool with thier slow shipping-
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/r.....r=15995679

Wbody store lost me a while ago so I wont buy from them. However, I dug up an old post about finding PCM trays in Blazers/Sonoma's at the junkyard?

http://www.naioa.com/v2/module.....p;p=632524

I'm going tomorrow to have a look, can someone narrow me in on what year/models I should look at? I have about 2 weeks before I put the car back on the road & I dont want to wait around for shipping stuff (now now now!).
Thanks for any help!

Just zip tied down or something? I could pad it underneath (camper tape or something), but I'm more worried about water I guess. ?? Do most people just tie it down somehow & call it good?
Thanks!

The PCM tray is from a Blazer. I think it's 1998ish to 2002ish, but checking the part # would yield more info. Thinking about it, I suppose a Jimmy and maybe the S10/Sonoma would have the same tray as well but I am not certain.

The tray isn't enclosed at all and the PCM and connectors are waterproof anyway so you should be fine as long as the harness isn't rubbing against something.

It's not all about the functionality of it. I would be completely embarrassed to pop my hood and have somebody see my PCM held in place with zip ties!!

A PCM bracket costs $22 at ANY general motors dealership across the country. It securely holds the PCM and looks like it's supposed to be there.

bracket = 15995679

All depends on how you use the car. My 04SS was entered into shows a couple times a week, so the hood was always open. Thats why I spent the extra $$$ on a Thrasher CAI

Mine was held down with a mini bungie cord for a while, but I ended up getting rid of it. Even with Ontario winter salt and driving through anything I felt like, never had any issues in the last 7+ years.

Thanks for the replies.
I ordered the tray from GM Parts Direct over the weekend (too busy to hit the junkyard). I live in the "pothole capitol state" so I just cant have the PCM banging around in there. I did try to make it look decent with a crazy web of zip ties but man, it just looked so crappy!
