Does anyone else feel kindof invisible to cops in their Impala? Both of my newer Impalas have been silver/gray with stock exteriors and dark tint (18-20%)... I have passed cops sitting on the sides of highways going between 85 -100 several times (5+ at LEAST) and they never budge.

Am I just lucky?

Do they think I'm a detective?

Is it just some kind of subconscious filter that they don's see other Impalas?

thoughts?

You must be lucky, I've been pulled over 3 times in the Impala. Once for speeding, running a red light and running a stop sign. Maybe I should put some 9C1 wheels on it. Very Happy

Quite the opposite! Just a month ago I was ticketed for talking on my cellphone, when I wasn't! I think the guy just made it up! I'm very pissed!
In my current minivan(98 Plymouth) and the previous minivan I had(00 Mazda), I was invisible. I had 20% tint all over the Mazda.

I've been ticketed in my car, was in a convoy of speeding cars and I was the unlucky one.

Wife got a ticket in it because she didn't realize how fast she was going based on engine sound.

People never seem to have a good feel for how fast the car is going, not sure if it's the magnaflow system or what.

Around here (Michigan) window tint will get you noticed more than anything. You can be blowing through a redlight, laying a patch, finger out the window, bumper dragging, window cracked, dead hookers falling out of the trunk, but if your windows are tinted your probably hiding something!!

Seriously though Wink I bought a ~5 year old Grand Prix from the original owner. He tinted the windows dark as soon as he got it & never had a problem. Two weeks after I bought it I was holding a ticket in one hand & peeling tint off with another. Go figure! It was a nice tint job too, stinked taking it off...maybe I should have closed the trunk Wink

Best one was 95mph he pass me up going 120MPH guess he was in a rush to get home

call bs if a cop sees someone tailgating while speeding its considered aggressive driving and that carries a heaver fine than just a speeding ticket. besides that you could just tell his you where scared for your life and was trying to get away from him
