im looking for headers and downppipe for my 04 impala 3400 and i cannot find any, will the N body gradn am headers work with the impala downpipe and crossover pipe1/?

not sure about headers, but you can get ported manifolds for the 3400, probably more flow than that motor will ever need.

i found some N body grand am headers and im curious if they would work i have researched a little and i guess theres a little modification but it would work , but id rather just find bolt in headers without all the trouble

when doing something like this do you need to get the computer reprogrammed?

Not without some serious modifications. Check out Milzy Motorsports for upgrades for the 3400. That's pretty much all that is available these days...

You don't have to, but it is highly recommended if you really mod the engine to get a tune.

tuning the PCM is even good on a stock car but really comes to life with mods. Of course the tune would be less aggressive without mods.

N Body S&S headers fit. I'm not sure about other ones. The cast iron bracket that holds the engine strut mount to the block has to be modified. Pretty sure that was the only thing. I did this on my 3400 Monte Carlo. While the Impala is still a w-body, you may encounter some differences.



I cut off a lot more than was necessary but this should get you going in the right direction.

Also, you'll probably need to have a downpipe fabricated if yours doesn't come with one. If it did come with one, it's probably not right. The N-body has a 3 bolt cat back flange and the W-body only has two.
