I recently
Found a denso navagation unit in a 2006 Grand Prix in local scrap yard. I managed to get the deck and antenna for
A fair price. Does anybody know if it will be comparable with my 2005 impala?

I don't know of anyone that has done navigation swaps between the generations. I recall several years ago that a member bought a factory navigation head unit and put it in his Impala that did not come with one - but they were the same generation (2006-2013).

I believe that unit was from a Tahoe or something similar.

My biggest concern with this would be that the dashes on the Grand Prix and the Impala are nothing alike. I don't think the unit would fit anywhere,e ben if it was compatible.

doubt it would work, besides the physical differences, the 06 GP is more than likely CAN-BUS and the 02 Impala isnt.

Dont know what "a fair price" is, but around here, used nav units sell for a few hundred dollars and will need to be unlocked at a dealership. Almost cheaper to buy an inexpensive aftermarket unit

I though 48$ was a fair deal. It's the same as they use in the vettes . It is a double Din stereo so I see no reason it wouldn't fit with the proper mounting bracket. And I though our cars had all that can-bus jazz. Seeing how you have to run your own assesory wire for aftermarket stereos.

Edit: I ment to post a link
