2008 SS, replaced battery a month ago, Dealer (still under warranty) put another Delco in,, if it sits for a few days its down to 12.1 volts,, Can I just put a battery maintainer on it while its in the garage? Do I have to disconnect the cables?
Thanks

Also I have searched but haven't found a definite answer whether the On Star draws the battery down or not,, Dealer says it highly unlikely!!

Yes, you can put a charger/maintainer on it. Thats what I have done in the past with my motorcycle everytime it is left in the garage. Thats the one reason why I think that the stock battery has lasted 5+ years on the bike.

The problem could be caused by weak diodes in the alternator. I had this is a Gran Prix. GARY

you can put a multi-meter on the battery and watch the amps as you pull fuses. There will always be a draw because of the complicated computer systems in the cars, but if there is a faulty system, it will draw a lot more than needed.

i wana say the ohms should be around .01 now a .03 isnt bad but something like .1 is. also when you first thought the meter to the battery cable and battery terminal it will jump up but should back down.
