day after christmas , i picked up an 03 impala ,cheap, for the interior and few other parts. dont look bad but underneath rustin out pretty good.

today finished takin buckets & console out . debating on steering wheel (has the controls ) .

probably take out door panels, switches, etc. . also debating on sunroof (ele. aftermarket) .
then i get to transfer it over to the 04 . when weather permits.

good to know but wasnt planning using the motor, happy w/ the 3.4 in it. runs very well so far at 89k.
the 03 at twice the miles and 20hp more, 1/2 the mileage wouldnt be worth it for me just to have a 3.8
i'll end up scrapping when done pickin what i want off it .

Sunroof models have a different roof stamping. You can't just cut a hole and put in a factory sunroof. You can, however, just cut a hole and put in an aftermarket sunroof!

What are you doing with the taillights and exhaust?

I'm not personally interested, but people do ask somewhat regularly where they can find a set (taillights with LS Sport/SS covers).

Not sure what mileage you get with the 3.4 but I've gotten 36mpg highway with the 3.8, loaded with two adults, baby and all the luggage for a few days away.

Nice score Cool
I just passed on a parts car that had the console/leather & blown up 3.8, almost identical car. I'm jealous now!
Selling off some of those parts you dont need will offset the price, go for it! I also see a strut tower brace, plus the tails & exhaust like Lingenfelter said.

That wouldnt happen to have the 6 gauge cluster in it would it? I need a new "plexiglass" cover for mine Very Happy

sorry nick only the 4gauge ls cluster. tho i did get a 6 gauge an put in the 04 lol .
do have the interior almost all stripped out. been to damn cold out to do anything as of late. also been wondering bout the exhaust as far as getting it off and how it may sound on the 3400 motor weather it be worth it. guy said they were magnaflows but not sure, thinkin not. (is there name stamped on them?)

the mileage question, this 3800 seems to eat gas pretty good, didnt drive long enough but ate it fast in the very short time i did. my 3400 still gets easy 30 something on open road and 23-26 in town pending on how heavy my foot gets lol

This is purely anecdotal, as I truly don't know for sure, but every set of Magnaflows I have ever seen have had the Magnaflow logo stamped on the undersides, quite large enough that you simply can't miss it. This is from a sample of maybe 10 different cars with Magnaflows on them.

Maybe they are Magnaflow knock-offs?

Almost positive the GMPP duals I ordered straight from ZSpot are not stamped Magnaflow.

They are made by Magnaflow for GM, so no stamping.

Borla and Corsa make the Mopar exhausts for the LX platform, just say Mopar on them.

If this were a Grand Prix you would be right as they changed to the l26 in '04 which was returnless. All 3800 Impalas got the l36 or l67 which had a return line.

Almost all if not all electronics between an '03 and '04 are the same aside from the HVAC (didn't they switch to electronic from vacuum in '04?).
