I'll get a picture up tomorrow afternoon. There's a piece of metal hanging down above the exhaust between the rear wheels. It's right after the resonator and is hanging immediately after the S bend thereafter. It rattles when the passenger side door is shut and sometimes when driving. Again, I'll get a pic up tomorrow.

Any help is appreciated!

EDIT: Pics in 3rd post

Without seeing pictures, I'm guessing that it is probably the heat shield near or on the gas tank. I would look to see how it can be resecured without punching any holes in the tank.

That looks like a heat shield too me. I could be incorrect.

I wouldn't tear it off - it helps protect your gas tank from the heat of your exhaust...

So tearing it off is a bad idea?
How common is this? I had another heat shield completely fall off one night.

they are very thin metal and lightly spot welded or riveted into place. They break loose all the time on every car model.

I removed a few on my 04SS and never had an issue. The exhaust is far enough away to stay safe. The only ones Id be worried about are the cat and downpipe.
