Is the security light flashing or is it solid. If it is flashing then it sounds like a VATS issue. If it is solid it could be a bcm issue. Or it could simply be a starter.

Is there just a click and everything in the car goes dead? If so, clean ALL the corrosion off your battery cables and make sure they are on the battery tight.

Battery cable bolts should be tightened to 11 ft lbs. Once you get the cables unbolted from the battery, take a small flat-bladed screwdriver and get behind the plastic on the front side of the terminal (between the plastic and the bolt) and you can pull the bolt out. Once you do that, the cover can be pulled upwards and off the cable for cleaning.

If the bolt has any stripped threads or is badly corroded, replace it.

battery is not fully charged or bad cell.

my impala would not turn over unless the battery was 100% charged or 12.8v (had a bad cell on it even though it reported 12.5v 70%, it would not start)

It was a cheap Wall-mart battery it lasted 1 year 1 mo,

I bought a higher quality replacement battery no issues since.

bad cell = no start

what is the brand and CCA of it?

agreed, check the starter, doesn't seem to be electrical problems. unless your key is too worn out, still doubt that would be a problem.

You have a vats problem...the security light flashing. There are 4 10 amp bcm fuses. The one closest to the front of the car, and lowest to the ground. Pull it and put it back in when that happens. See if it starts.
