Bought this nice MonteCarlo in the summer. Both seat heaters worked then. The other day my friend in the passenger seat flipped the switch, no heat.

Tried the easy thing first, located the fuse via the owners manual, didn't look blown but changed it anyway. No good.

I have seen the posts regarding the repair of the heating element wire, but am curious as to what else can be suspect.

Would like to know what else is in the circuit that needs to be troubleshooted. If anyone might have access to schematic it would appreciated.

afaik the elements are notorious for going out. my first imp say thing and my new imp same thing. seen some that did go up its kind of amazing the amount of heat they make when burnt up

I think there are replacement elements that can be put in.

almost every heated seat failure I have seen on these cars points to a broken wire on the element.
