I see that one of the pins for the disc brake calipers has a rubber "o-ring" at its end. After watching a pad & rotor replacement on youtube, it looks like my caliper pins are reversed. That is, the one with the rubber tip is in the lower position. I've searched this forum for more information but didn't find anything yet.

Is there a preferred orientation for the pins?

Any guess for why GM designed the calipers this way?

The leading Caliper Pin, or top bolt , has a bushing as part of the assembly.

Sounds like yours is wrong.
