How do I use it? the new place I'm moving to has a security gate I want to use the home link.

I'm too cheap to pay for another remote when the car has a built in one. It will save me 20$ deposit.

I'm not going to program the garage door I don't want easy access to the place since it will be parked outside.

It's going to depend on what they are using to manage the codes for the door. At my complex, you have to pay for an extra remote as there is no way to get into the system to add remotes without the landlord...
