I know its only a house, but its pretty exciting when you buy your first one. Me and my boyfriend were sick of paying $1400 a month in rent for a house smaller than we bought. Place is bout 15 minutes outside the city on a 1 acre lot with almost no tax.

House is very un-assuming from the outside.

But is super nice on the inside

36x26 Garage with 12' ceilings. Has its own 200A Service, and Dual zone in floor Glycol Heat.

Nice! Congrats. Me and the woman are just starting to look. Its excited. Finding out what you can afford is not so exciting haha. But looks like a nice house, and a badass garage!

Congrats on the new digs! Buying your first house is one of those rites of passage. It's a huge, nerve-wracking deal, but it is very much well worth it. And the house looks awesome!

Way better than rent IMO.

Nice house! Wish I had opted for infloor heating when I built my place.

We must have looked at 30+ houses, but they were either out of our price range, or if we REALLY liked it we'd end up getting outbid by 20-30 grand. One of the places went for 65,000 over asking at 325,000... Rolling Eyes

A buddy showed us this on Com-Free for s**t and giggles, and we didn't even consider it at first due to the commute to the city for work (Oh Woh is me, 15 extra minutes.... lol) and that we knew nothing about buying a house, we were going to use a Realtor. We ended up seeing the place, and fell in love with the Garage and the lack of taxes (1000$ a year vs 2900-3900$ for any house in the city).

Congrats on the house! In the next few years, I want to start the process of finding a place. Paying rent is like pissing money away in my opinion anymore. Now to get a better job and find a place in the DMV with enough garage space.... lol

Congrats again!

Related to the lower taxes, just be prepared in case you need septic or well system repairs, since I doubt you're on public systems. Septic pricing adds up fast - and watch where you park if you park on the grass at any time - it's easy to crush perforated pipes and damage the infiltration bed.

Always better to buy a house then to rent. Because the money goes towards something that will someday be yours. And nice garage. Very Happy
