Pondering a long time dilemma. Can the PVC valve cause my 3.8 to want to surge at cold start . I was checking my oil and noticed one of the tabs that makes a connection was broken and at inspection the valve looked like it might need replacing. The surge only happens when the car has been sitting for a few hrs. but does it every day. I have to idle it at about 2000 rpm's for a second or two and then its fine for the rest of the day. Very annoying..

Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks...........................

Could also be a dirty IAC, dirty throttle body, or bad fuel pressure regulator.

theres a difference in surge and a high idle on a cold start up. do you idle it up to 2k or does it do it itself ?
