My last two wash and wax I used Mothers Carnuba whatever it is called. I have never used it before. A day or two later it rained each time but after it dried my car looked liked it was not rained on. I am sold on Mother's from now on. Just my 2 cents.
Only contaminants in rainwater or already sitting on the surface of the car will show after rainwater has ran off, so if the car isn't dirty already it shouldn't get waterspots from rain (rain is generally softwater, at least around here).
That said, I'm sure Mothers is a decent wax. I'm lazy and use Turtlewax Ice since I have no shade to work in.
Protip: Pink erasers will remove wax which you've gotten onto trim.
From an old carshow guy here (FWTW), Mothers Pure Carnuba is the best! I've always called it "pure bee crap" as it looks good when your finished. Once you get the car in the sun it sort of "melts" and gives the car that super smooth, glossy finish. As it heats up it melts & you cant see where you missed spots. What your looking for is the most "pure carnuba" with the least amount of synthetic additves.
If you avoid rain it will last a while, heavy rains/carwashing will wash it off. Good thing is that you can re-apply it as often as you like & it wont hurt the paint/clearcoat. The paste formula (in a can) is top notch. If your looking for a quick "super shine" check out the Mothers Glaze/Sealer. Its not meant to be a long term protectant/shine on its own, BUT if you want a quick super gloss thats easy to apply & remove check it out. I've tried every brand out there, Mothers is hands down the best. I've brought paint back from the dead with thier stuff.
