PostPosted: Sun Aug 11, 2013 2:48 am    Post subject: Question Stock 16" Rims... Reply with quote

Should I hang on to the stock "diamond-cuts" for any reason? I'd kinda like to keep them, but things tend to pile up...as I'm sure you're all aware. Shocked Rolling Eyes

I really have no idea if they would even sell anywhere,or for how much. Confused

Feedback welcomed. Smile

Good for snow tire mounting.

Polished are worth more than machined, but either way the diamond cuts are probably the best looking factory 00-05 wheel.

Dang those look really good! Pretty sure those are the machines ones. They are on your car now right? What do you mean things pile up... I'd keep those sexy shoes anyday!

Those are the machined finish - polished finish will look like chrome.

Still a very nice set of rims, especially if they're all in that good of shape.

They do need a good cleaning, and I think some clear's coming off the caps...but they definitely do not have any curb rash,or the like.

I do like the rims, just not sure if I'll ever need or use them... I guess I'll sit on 'em tho'.

Thanx for the input Smile

Yours held up pretty good, I ride mine in the winter, but mine are a lot more beatup then yours.

If you dont need them in winter though, and theyre "useless" just keep reposting them on craigslist (ebay what selling price for em is)

I was gonna say - I don't think I've ever seen anything but a machined version of the 16" NX5, even listed.

Someone's confused (possibly me even)...
I'm talking about the 16" version of the 'Diamond Cut' 5-star wheel, just like OP has pictured above (RPO NX5). They only came in that one finish., 'machined' I guess you could say. Then obviously the 17" versions came in two finishes; the 'polished' (P04) and chrome (PA9), which must be what you're referencing to?
edit: I suppose I shouldn't forget the special model QS1s with black highlights.

Hah, I was contemplating doing the same with the polished set I have too, but they're still kind of nice to beat up as a winter set so I haven't made the call yet and for now have been running a set of 16" N99 squad wheels shod with winter tires.

And it looks like you obviously have the 'polished' versions (P04).

Those look machined to me. Polished have a nearly chrome finish to them (entire wheel) The machined ones have an "as cast" finish to the windows and a machined surface to the face (glossy, but not chrome looking)

There was no (to my knowledge) entirely 'polished' FACTORY 17" Diamond Cut '04-'05 wheel that I'm aware of? I know at one point there was an aftermarket replica that was entirely smooth & polished, and looked pretty nice actually. But is this not what the factory considered 'polished' (opt P04) and what is listed as polished when you look for them in yards?
