I'm in the market for my first polisher. I wanted to know what you guys think is the best for $200-$250. Right now im leaning toward one from griots but im not sure.

Also looking at what compounds you guys like to use -- Meguiars, 3m, wolfgang, etc...

buy a random orbital style. The high speed wheel type can damage the paint if you dont know what you are doing.

Get the 25 ft power cord unless you are using an extension cord. Depends on where your AC outlet is. Rolling Eyes

I use the Griot's Garage 6" random orbital and have had great results so far. I've been using Meguiar's polishes (#1 and #2) and I use 3M Finesse-It.
This is the combination I used on both of my Impalas and you can see the reflections in the gray 9C3. I waxed it using Meguiar's Cleaner Wax.

^^ If you care about what your car looks like It wouldnt be a waste. IMO......If hes not using a proper 2 bucket wash, it would need another polish in prolly 3-4 months lol
