No sorry to say there is nothing you can do. I tryed an old school FM Booster and it did not help. I think someone here even tryed an external antenna with no luck.

Have you checked the connection from the windshield to the rear pillar? Sometimes the connector is loose and needs to be reseated. Beyond that, I have no suggestions for you.

technically it isnt the defroster lines. Its a separate set of lines that look like defroster lines.

Unless you add a mast style antenna, not much toy can do to improve it. I have the same issue on my 300.

Glad this popped up to the top.

Just an observation. On my 86 Monte, I shaved the antenna when I had the car painted. All I have now is the wire plugged into the radio and its taped up in the inner fender without a mast. I havent lost a single bit of reception.

On another note, my defroster tab broke off the rear window at the car wash a few months ago when they were washing the inside of my rear window. Prior to that it had only broken off on one side of the tab. I was getting crappy radio reception with the defroster on, which is one of the reasons I switched to satellite radio.

I soldered the tab back on last week and I no longer have static in my AM/FM reception with the defroster on. I would check the all the solder joints on the tabs for both the antenna and the defroster on the rear window to make sure they are fully intact and that you do not have any breaks in the antenna grid lines.

another way is to check the alarm remote should be able to get 60' or more feet Line of sight. if the antenna is working correctly.. I did have to be closer to lock the car but unlock and trunk open worked far away.. fun to scare people since they are thinking the car magically came to life and is getting ready to back up. (since the back up lights come on when the car is unlocked.). I was able to get a few people honk their horn for nothing Laughing
