Passenger Fog died on me tonight.

I've seen a couple different numbers for replacements online...H11 55W or 896 ?
I have not dug in to an LED replacement.

Can anyone elaborate,or offer a good LED fix,if there is one.

Thank you very much.

FYI: http://www.naioa.com/v2/module.....amp;t=8870

Not chirping ya - I don't think the knowledge database is setup to be included in google searches anymore. I printed a copy and keep it in the front cover of my owners manual - comes in handy Wink

So simple,it's brilliant...I will heed your advice. Especially since my owner's manual still resides in the center console...it hasn't even graduated to the glovebox yet. What does that tell 'ya? Embarassed

Anything to add on an LED fix?...

Thanx for the quick reply Smile

Unfortunately I've never done any LED work. BBEngineer or Hotsauce would probably be my go-to's for tips on that sort of thing.

Thanx...picked up/put in an 893 yesterday. I'll look into the LED thing further.

I got nothing to add to the automotive LED part of the question, but this website has a pretty good selection of bulbs. I have bought from here four times now & never a problem. Snoop around a bit-
http://www.bulbs.com/

Getting off topic, but I've begun replacing household lights & fixtures (CFL's already) with LED's. There is some trial & error, but the wattage I've removed is amazing. I took out over 300 watts in the house for very little money (CFL's to LED's).

Last weeks project was the garage. No LED's YET, but I replaced 32 T-12 flourescent bulbs & fixtures with 12 T-8 lights/fixtures. The light difference is night & day! Two car garage, six banks of "4 bulb" troffer lights using a mix of 34/40 watt bulbs that were using 888 watts. Installed new 2 bulb T-8 fixtures/lights and now I'm using 384 watts. Add it up, I'm using 504 watts less than before & have a much brighter garage. Cant go wrong there, the electric meter says so Laughing

55watt will be fine

I use them in my 03 impala(55watt)(885 is the bulb#)

Fog light fuse is 15amps

2 @ 55watt bulbs are about 7.97amps @ 13.8v

amps x volts = watts

. way brighter then the 27watt
stock ones

They seem to provide better light then the headlights (when aimed in the right spot) this helps giving a reflection on the signs on the street.

before the they were pointed straight to the ground and were useless as forward lights before I aimed them a little higher

no one has flashed me yet and I have passed thousands of cars.

LEDs you have to add a resistor other wise it will say it's burned out.

This means damaging your wire harness Sad

Thanx for the feedback/info...

I get the OHM's Law reference "amps x volts = watts" I just happen to be an electrician, and although I'm used to much higher volts and amps,it still applies. Smile
