Good price for a hood, but I think this is made by the company that has a bad rep for poor fitment... May also explain why it's been hanging in his garage for years.

That is just like the hood I just put on our car. They are a piece of S**t! Especially to get ready to paint. Also they are very thin. I wouldn't pay any more than $100 for it . They only cost about 350. Check my pics out in my thread exterior mods.

Thanks a lot 77 & Lingenfelter, I really appreciate your replies. Thats enough to make me pass on it. I was ready to make a road trip Shocked This place is great, thank you.

A new hood wasnt really in my plans BUT since its a subject....Does anyone make a decent cowl hood? I havent ever seen one on a Impala (pics or in person).

Thanks again!

Hmm..not too far from me, lets see if I can talk him down in price.....lol

Thank god I have a good paint/body guy that works for me

No one makes a cowl for these cars. I was going to make a custom one, until these hoods came out.

Duraflex makes another one, that looks like complete garbage.

Saw it one 1 impala and it was hideous...which explains why I've only seen it on one impala Laughing

1 or 2 here with it, seen 1 locally and there are a few on other forums with it.

Id go with the MPD, the price keeps most away, so it would be more rare. Besides, you pay for quality.

Well your welcome 00!! Laughing J/k!
Very very curious to see some pics & what you think! For the price, if the shape is right, it may be worth a shot.

I have to disagree on that.

The Duraflex fenders for the 300 are about $300 new, can get them all the time for around $100. Top end fenders are about $900.

Seen people buy the Duraflex and dump another $600-$700 into getting them to fit right and reinforce the cheap / thin fiberglass they use. Then a few hundred in prep and paint.

Steel fenders are $900 and come ready for paint with minor touch up from shipping and are made from OEM fenders (actual Mopar, not aftermarket)
