I've been gone from NAIOA for quite a while, mainly due to my lack of desire for all things SS...but now it's official. On Monday, June 10th, 2013, the SS was murdered....by my daughter, of all people! My daughter walked away with not one bump or bruise, thankfully.

Geico removed her (the car, not daughter) from life support just days later. I'm going through my SS stuff and will start a FS thread for anything that may be worth something to someone.

I should have some sort of Wake-type music playing in the background...

Damn Chris, as long as she is alright, cars can be replaced.

At least it had a Ford for its last meal!!!

While I may s**t all over the W-body for it's many shortcomings, it never ceases to amaze me how well they give themselves up to save the passengers.

I agree on this completely. Sad to see it go, but change happens... Glad it took a ford for it's last meal as well! Twisted Evil

Come again? Looks like the Fusion put an epic beatdown on that poor Impala and could drive away under it's own power. Chris, did the Imp hit a dump truck or something else to cause all that damage? Glad to know your daughter is fine. Smile Peace, John

The woman in the fusion was presumably speeding & had no stop sign. My daughter had just entered the intersection (at fault) and the SS took the hit right at the corner of the bumper. It's a lot of cosmetic damage, but some frame rail damage, which brought us to the "total loss" category. Geico said abt $9k in damage w/ a FMV of $10,600. Dogbone was bent pretty significantly and they speculated other engine/trans mounts as being affected too.

Time for a rear drive conversion? At least one of your headlights is intact. Those were so nice. Again, sorry about your loss, and yes, there are Impala's all over the place so getting another one wouldn't be too hard. Peace, John

Have needed two vehicles for quite some time, one being an SUV, but didn't want to finance anything. I found a mint '03 Trailblazer in the Rochester, NY area. Low mileage, base model for $4700. Looking to spend $5k-$7k on a decent, used car....aiming toward an '04-05 Maxima, '03-06 Saab 9-3/9-5 turbo, or something else fun to drive that won't be as hard as the SS was on the wallet (at the pump).

In my travels, I came across a nice, black, '06 SS from York, PA, that someone brought up here. Had tinted tails, flowmaster mufflers, Diablo-tuned, debadged, tinted, halo headlights (no longer a fan), and the MPD hood and CAI airbox. Guy was asking $10,900, and I wasn't trying to spend that much on a single vehicle again.
