These were the original knock off/cheap headers. Before OBX and speed daddy came along.

They are fine headers. I run the same header style and its not bad. Install is a little tricky but not too bad, had mine installed in about 4 hours. Taking them out of slowsol's SS was a little harder than installing them in mine.

I suggest after doing several installs, rear header goes in from the TOP. Took WAY longer getting it out the bottom than in the top.

Yeah, that's the only bad thing with the knock off companies. If the crossover fit on that kind, it wouldn't be a big deal, you just get the Y pipe welded so it doesn't leak like they normally do.

The crossover on those is a PITA. I'd probably steer clear of that and find either a used set of headers on clubgp/ebay or keep searching ebay for the SLP design knock offs

OR, you could get those, you would just either have to cut/reweld the crossover, or pay a shop to do so. But at that rate you might as well just get a used set of slp, tog's, zzp, or wbodystore headers

header shopping is such a pain.
maybe ill save up and grab zzp pacesetters since they fixed most of the issues. and are cheap.

Have they fixed the issues with pacesetter? I haven't heard anything about them lately, but I know they used to leak alllllllll the time lol.

Only suggestion with those is weld or get someone to weld the Y pipe to the rear header. Thatll solve half the issue with those

I'd still get it welded.

Or at the very least, coat the living crap out of it with copper RTV when you install. That should prevent it from leaking.

They're not a bad deal, but for close to 400, I'd almost wait for a used set of SLP's, or knock offs on clubgp. There were some wbody store ones FS over there w a downpipe for 500, I believe they were almost brand new too

Agreed! that's a steal!

I've had both ebay header versions... the pacesetter knockoff shown above as well as the infamous "j-hump" edition as well... I liked my "j-hump" after it hit a few bumps :-p have a local here on a gp that fixed it at a local exhaust shop... Cost him the price of the headers to fix it but damn it looks good now!

So the togs rear header flange that connects to the downpipe is warped.. So tto fix that And having to buy a downpipe also then pay for the downpipe to be welded to my stockcat isn't cost effective as I still have to buy lots of things for my topswap
So I'm thinking of buying the plog and doing my topswap and incar tune from overkill. I already have 2.5" downpipe.
I should he safe with that setup right? I don't plan on modding any further.

Haha yes they do. The modding never ends.

IMO the plog isn't as good as a set of headers... Helped a local here with the same thing he went from bone stock, to cold air, to plog and cold air, and then headers and cold air... Headers always make an overall higher gain in horsepower, because of how much more, at least compared to a plog at least, the flow of the air is going into the exhaust.

Overkill does awesome work since his tune does accommodate YOUR own mods so each tune is unique and I can personally say from the one he sent me it makes a night and day difference overall.

Ya I already have a incar tune from him Wink
I guess I'm saying is I won't be able to afford any mods after the topswap until next year. I just want the plog to help with the kr created from the topswap.
