Has anyone ever made spacers to raise the rear spoilers up on the 00-05 models. We have almost got my wife's car painted now and I would like to raise the rear spoiler up about 2-3 inches. My uncle had a 87 Camaro once and a guy fabricated him some and it looked cool. Would really like to do this but wouldn't know where to start. A person could probably sell them for sure.

If you do go this way, be Very Very Very careful when closing the trunk.

I have no idea what OP is talking about. How you would extend our spoilers and not make them look like total shyte is beyond me.

You can't picture it in your mind? Best case scenario, it looks super ricey. Worst case scenario, it looks like total crap and obscures your rear visibility.

I know what the OP's after. I've always thought the spoilers on these cars looked a little mild. I don't think a huge ricer wing would look good, but maybe something more along the lines of a factory 96-01 Impreza spoiler. Similar to this, but on an Impala-

That doesn't really strike me as any sort of spacer application, that looks like a new formed wing.

Not sure how someone would make spacers out of a durable enough material and produce a good "factory" looking product for plastic spoilers.

easier and more cost effective to remove the factory spoiler and find either an aftermarket or an OEM spoiler from a different model and see how it fits. Will probably require filling the OEM holes if the new spoiler doesnt cover them

Exactly. The bottom of the Impala spoiler is formed to contour around the trunk lid and rear fender, so to make a spacer look proper would require hacking around the base of the spoiler. Even if you had to fill in the OEM holes, I still feel it'd be easier and look better to find a similar-styled spoiler off a different car. When I first got my Impala I did a lot of looking at different cars, trying to find a spoiler that I thought would compliment it best. My favorite so far is the Impreza spoiler. It may be worth it to pick one up from a junkyard and do a test-fit.

You guys have no imagination. I am no where near talking about a ricer wing or want anything of the sort. Just a small lift is all. My uncle had an 87 Z-28 and and had a guy at the local GM plant make him some spacers to lift it up. It looked factory and cool as Heck. It was only an idea and just wanted to see if anyone had done it or knew how.
Thanks

I'm not opposed to the idea, I just think it'll take more effort to pull it off correctly than it's worth. If you look at a factory spoiler, it mounts to the very edge of the trunklid and has extra material hanging over the sides of the trunklid and hovering above the fenders themselves. If you make a spacer that mounts to the bottom of the factory spoiler mounts and then flush it to the sides of said mounts then you're going to have a very thick chunk of spacer. You'd basically have to make a negative of the bottom of the spoiler with fiberglass or some other material & then make a block of it 2 inches tall, then mount it to the spoiler and deck lid properly.

The only other way that I can see you doing this and making it look good is by making some mounting spacers that are attached slightly inside of the current mounting points and making them tall enough to lift the whole spoiler up your two inches. That might actually be doable, look decent, and not be too much of a PITA.

The second scenario would look similar to this-

Your first idea is what the guy made for my uncle. It looked totally like it came out of the factory that way. Also I dont think the Camaro you posted looks ricey at all.
If it was lifted 1 1/2 to 2" and done properly, it would still match the contour of fenders and trunk. Just a little more space in there. Wife's car may get painted today and with that new custom hood, I just thought something on the rear would look nice to give it some umph!
