Wasn't able to snap any pictures but in my eyes it looked much much better in person than in pictures. This was a top of the line LTZ granted, I'd like to see a more base model, but the ass end, side view and a quick glimpse of the front as I passed all looked clean and well proportioned.

Are these available for sale yet? Anyone else seen one on the roads?

It's not unheard of to see factory engineers / corporate guys driving preproduction models on the roads before they're officially for sale. Given that they're being built in Oshawa I'm not surprised to hear of this.

I haven't been through any dealerships in the past few weeks, but I don't think there are any on the lots yet.

Haven't seen any of these on the road... I did snap a couple pictures while i was at the Cleveland Auto Show of the new Chevy Impala... I wish they would've stayed with the original plan and converted it back to RWD before it got scrapped Sad Photos below of the one that was on display

My wife wants one of these in the worst way. I want the SS when it comes out. This could be very expensive...

Shocked

Saw a commercial on TV for several Chevrolet models last night. All it said for the Impala was "Spring".

chevy is finally catching this car up to the level of other manufacturers. Very clean looking outside. Are they making an SS model? Last I heard was never again. The front of this impala kinda looks like the kia optima front clip. Bars vs. mesh in the grill, otherwise very close.

no SS model, they have the regular Chevrolet SS that will be the performance sedan. Expect a $40K price tag as it will be sold as a "loaded only" car

The 2014 is already getting it's detractors, and it's new car smell hasn't even worn off yet, LOL

http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/m.....43673.html

40K is Audi territory, not Chevy family car. Ouch. About the only thing I really liked on the car are the LTZ rims. That barf-awful brown-on-black interior looks like Stevie Wonder was picking colors. Could be the next big thing in the rental business if it doesn't come out of the blocks on fire. Too bad, too. It's porkier than the '13, so the V6 will be penalized, and God only knows how the inclusion of the 4 bangers will do in the Imp. I know the 2.4 keeps my '10 Malibu more commuter car than banzai-mobile. Let's hope the best for the continuation of the bloodline. Peace, John

Is the Imp getting the same 2.4 that's in the Malibu? If so, that is gonna be a pig. I feel like my Malibu can barely get out of it's own ways sometimes. I cant even imagine what extra weight would do to it.

Maybe it will get DI to help out with horsepower. Laura still misses the Impala, but I don't miss the worry over replacing the tranny at a moment's notice. She would be happier with another one some day, but the next car we get will have to be doing about 40mpg, not 30 on a good day. Peace, John

You have to realize that review is so biased it's hardly worth reading to the end. Looks like it was written solely for page clicks and commenter traffic.

That being said, I'll reserve my judgement until I see one on the lot that I can test drive. I doubt the 4 cylinder will be good for much, but the finishes appear to be much improved, especially from my generation.

They won't hold value anyway, so if you don't drive your cars right into the ground it's probably not a good purchase. I bought mine 2 years old at less than 40% of MSRP, so my cost of ownership is appreciably low for an optioned out car, even taking into account the repairs that I have done.

Lingenfelter, I do know that a critic's job is to criticize, even when there might not be much to criticize. It will be interesting to see the new Impala up close, for sure. Peace, John

If you notice the link in your browsers address bar, funny how the link states impala-sports-sedan.
