When I'm driving my headlights and interior lights randomly flicker and "security light" comes on? Is this a bcd issue or another issue? any input is more then welcome!

edit: i should add that i don't lose power or anything like that and according to my volt meter my power doesn't drop any?

I would look at having the headlight switch checked out, but I haven't had any personal experience with this issue. You might want to wait for others to chime in. Smile

All at the same time or at different time? If it's all happening at once, I'd think BCM. If it's happening at different times you probably have multiple issues (multifunction switch, headlight switch and ignition cylidner come to mind immediately).

My lights started acting bad so I bought a switch off eBay, didn't help my cause, now my auto door locks don't work. You might have better luck since you have the sec light pop up, could be ignition instead of a costly bcm!

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago, and basically yes.. there are 2 connectors
If you want to keep your original key cylinder, its pretty easy to take out.. you stick the key in and turn, then there is a small clip

I was told that the security relearn process would be needed, but somehow mine just started right up on the 1st try

My sec light and battery light started going off today and heard random clicking in the dash, it was during the day so I couldn't tell if my lights were doing that as well, I replaced the headlight switch and that didn't help, do I'm not sure if I should waste money on an ignition switch or just go for the bcm...

I don't want to imply that you are stupid, but have you checked the voltage on the battery? All sorts of weird stuff can happen if that is on it's way out.

Should be around 13.5-14 if the car is on and the alternator is functioning properly. The value I'd be more interested in is when the car is off. It should be about 12, if it's significantly lower than that I'd think you have a battery issue before replacing other components.

A properly charged battery should be 12.75 volts when the engine isn't running. A battery at 12 volts won't start a car as it will be too low to crank the engine. The last 2 batteries I had to replace were at 12 volts in the morning, & wouldn't start my GF's car. They had to be replaced. GARY

Worked a long day of OT so it'll have to wait till the AM, but I also disc the battery the other night and thought that would reset my power locks but they still don't function, so I'm almost positive its bcm now.

So my problem went away, i decided that it might be the bcm thinking the ignition was being tampered with cause my key was so old, I switched to my spare key on monday (barely used) and my issue went away. It hasn't happened all week and it was happening every time i started my car and every 5 min after that. I was just about to by a bcm to!!..... try that first.....

I was only gave 1 key, the cost of another is ridiculous. However IFFY might be right, went to start the car today, wouldn't even turn over, disc connected and re connected, didn't even spark at the battery cable, ran the Volt meter on it, was 10.75V not running. but when I took it out and put it on the ground to test again it read 11.38V, either way I'm taking it to go get tested and go from there. My neighbor said she knocked on my door last night because my parking lights were on, but I never heard a knock, so idk if that could be another sign the battery is mis behaving.
