Hey everyone,
I bought some speed daddy headers for my L67 Impala. I am having some issues installing them and was wondering if anyone had some advice. I have the rear manifold in and bolted down, but i can't get the front one to line up with the crossover pipe. If attempted to screw in the front then i can't get it to fit in the cross over, if i put it in the cross over and then attempt to bolt the manifold in, i can't get even close lining up the screws. is it possible that the crossover isn't bent to the right angles? or am i doing something wrong?

im just trying to remember from doing my monte. Put the rear in first , then attach the crossover then go to bolt up the front header and slip the crossover into it . Thats how i did it . You might have to turn the crossover some or rotate it .

Which ones do you have, the SLP designed or the pace setter design?

If you aren't sure, is there a "Y" pipe, or is that already welded into the rear header?

The ones with the Y pipe don't fit. you have to either cut and re-weld the crossover, or shave the trans case.

#1: These are the SLP design, (I have these ones)

#2: Pacesetter design:

Not sure why you are having trouble getting it to fit then, hmm

Slip the crossover into the rear header, don't tighten yet.

Slip the front header near where it needs to be, fit it into the crossover, then push it up to the head and get a couple bolts to hold it in place.

Tighten rear crossover/header connection, tighten front header, tighten front crossover/header connection

Congrats! I had the same ones on my Impala as well... definitely made a difference, but I know the gains are greater for the L67 and L32 motors

Mine were not bent quite right either, but I had the engine out of the car and was able to get them to fit.
