After 37 years of teaching and driving a Pontiac Montan van for the last 10 years, my mom finally thought it was time to get a new car. She loves my 300c and last summer she saw a new Charger and fell in love with it. Fast forward about 6 months. She started talking about getting excited to get another car. It came down to the 300 or the Charger, and, well, she didn't like any color in the 300, but loved Copperhead Pearl in the Charger. After I found out Copperhead was a limited run (no more made after 12/15/12), it was on to find the car.

We had to drive from Pittsburgh to outside of Baltimore to find what she wanted, but it was all good. Picked up a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Road and Track with the Super Track Pack, Beats by Dre audio, driver confidence group, and nav in Copperhead. This car is AMAZING in every way. Now its the waiting game till it breaks in...

(The color is a little off in the pictures because I was losing daylight and shooting into the Sun. I can't wait until summer...)

Nice ride! Your mom has good taste!

Like the "new" Charger a lot! It's more agressive-looking than the previous Charger. Not totally sold on the tail-lights, but they're growing on me. The rest of the car is awesome though and I agree about the color. Very nice!

Nice Exclamation I like that color on the that car too.

I almost don't want to admit it, but an AWD R/T will probably be the Impala replacement in a couple years.

I wonder if the high mount centre taillight is required by law even though there is a centre red tailpanel - does the centre tailpanel not light up?

Oh it lights up. It lights up like a Christmas tree. That's the worst part of the whole car to me. Nice look otherwise. If it were mine I think I would pull the plug on those lights and color match the tail

That is certainly an upgrade from a Montana. Very nice.

I guess the good news is you won't see that very often if it's your car. Laughing

If you plan on modding, stay away from the AWD. A lot of the RWD parts dont interchange including wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc.

Do want! Looks great. I'd take one of those as a DD in a heartbeat.

I don't believe the entire thing lights up when you apply the brakes, does it? I think the ones I've been behind it lights up like that with the lights on but just the ends light up with the brakes. Could be wrong though.

I love the tail lights myself. Definitely makes the car standout. No mistaking what it is at night. Although then again they stole those lights for the Dart now lol.

Well, it would be for wifey,... and having three RWD vehicles doesn't sound all that appealing to her. LOL And considering the AWD can still pull a mid to high 13 sec 1/4 mile, I would be fairly happy keeping it mostly stock. Def need to check on the lowering situation though.....

Thats for all the comments guys!

I, like PBSS, think the taillights are one of the best parts of the car. You don't see them anywhere else (except the Dart) and you 100% know what it is.

Lingenfelter, When you push the brakes, there are two "C"s in the left and right hand side of the taillights that light up. They're also the turn signals. The whole panel doesn't get brighter.

ZSpot, honestly, my 300c is a tank in the snow. Its all about the snow tires. I put Firestone Winterforce tires on and they have never let me down. And thats with minimal weight in the trunk too. If I remember correctly, the cars are really close to a 50-50 split for weight. We're getting them for the Charger as soon as the TPMS comes in for her winter wheels.

I also forgot to add that she wants to mod this thing too. Laughing Theres a catch can and splash guards on the way (that we'll paint body color) and she wants a Mopar Strut Tower Brace, Mopar CAI, Mopar front lip, and then get a 3g Customz under hood kit. At least I know what I can get her for holidays now. Cool

I have all the 3G goodies for my 300c, I needed to do some trimming on the firewall for the half covers to work correctly, otherwise they hit under acceleration and made a vibrating sound. So test fit before paint (unlike me having to trim a painted part)

I mounted the firewall first, then the half covers. I used a sharpie to trace the covers on the firewall and cut on that line.

As for tires, I guess snow tires work because Im running Toyo Proxes II all seasons and its a mess in the white stuff. Also running 10" rear wheels and (295) 11.5" wide rubber.

50/50 is pretty close, they really got it right with these cars except for the 4100lb+ weight issue.

edit: if she is into modding under the hood for looks, paint the coolant tank!!!! One of the best mods you can make under there. Also, dont forget a stop over at billet tech.

PBSS, thanks for the tip. I was going to get the kit for my car, but I need to focus on either getting the T/A sold (the Charger took its garage space) or painted. She'll take the reigns over on modding an LX for now.

If you still have your stock rims, throw some Winterforce tires on them. Saves the abuse on your Viper Reps and you can crawl a mountain. I think my 300 is more predictable in the snow than my 4x4 Ram 1500 was and it had AT tires on it.

The coolant tank paint is on the list for both mine (its yellowing) and the Charger. I already have the Billet Tech under hood kit, and the next time they run a sell, my dad is going to buy them for her car. She's already been talking about going to car shows with it. Laughing
