Keep on adding more problems to this POS.!!

Now when I turn my car off, whether I turned the lights on myself or when my auto lights kick on, when I get out of the car and and lock it to leave it, the parking lights and dash lights stay on. Front and rear. I have an aftermarket deck, with the stock radio, I disabled lights to blink while locking/unlocking from keyfob. been that way for a year or so now.

I disconnected the battery so It won't drain. Battery is maybe 1 yr old.
Thanks.

It's more than likely either the BCM or the head light switch. I'd probably start by manipulating the headlight switch a bit to see if it will turn off at all. If it does, you found your problem. If not, might be time for a trip to the dealer...

I connected the battery back up went for a ride came back all was norm again.
With all my issues I know the BCM is prob on borrowed time. I'll take it off a cliff before I take it to a dealer

Does the odometer stay on? If not, that might be a cause for cautious optimism and a reason to suspect the headlight switch. If the odometer stays on, my money would be on the BCM.

I'll remember to look at the speedo next time it happens. I think it was on, but it wasn't that dark out so hard to tell for certain.

When I had my BCM issue, the Odometer stayed on along with the lighting. I'd look into getting a replacement head light switch. Shouldn't be too expensive from a junkyard. If not, there are a few with and without a fog light switch on eBay for 25-30 bucks.

yeah I believe that its the switch, when I leave my car and pull and push the knob they go off. Also now when I use my fob to lock and unlock the lights come on, which is kind of weird cos I disabled that feature a long time ago. but my car was in the shop today and they cleared some codes, so IDK if that has anything to do with it. Found a switch with 30 day warranty on ebay for 12.95 Very Happy also found this if anyone was interested? Thought it was a steal of a deal, but I have no use for it.

Got it today, just installed it, did it without taking the whole dash off. Lights still flash when I lock and unlock but I'm thinking maybe its doing that because I did take off the after market cd adapter to put my sub back in. Haven't tested the new switch out other then in the drive way.

Spoke too soon, after running errands all day long yesterday and today, no abnormal issues, then tonight I went to the store and when I go to get out, all my lights are on. SMH, since it sounds like its my BCM, what are my options, as I've never really read up on or dealt with this issue before?

Thanks

only 2 options with BCM....

1 - Dealer bought and installed by dealership

2 - Dealer bought and installed by a shop with a TechII

Id stick with option 1 since they have more than likely done it many times before and less likely to screw it up like an independent shop trying it for the first time

You are looking at around 500 bucks for a new BCM and labor/programming at the dealer.

Nope. It needs to be in your car to program it.
