Hey everyone.

So I've got a bit of a problem. I have 5 gauge cluster motors going out in my 04 LS Sport. They aren't resetting or freezing. I had a problem last summer, but I couldn't get it torn out and they started working again.

I just saw that BBEngineer isn't doing the motor replacements anymore. I was in contact with him last summer, but never got it done. Now its gotten worse. Is there any other viable option to get the motors replaced? I don't have the money for a new cluster right now.

Thanks for any help.

Do you know anyone that is handy with a soldering iron? That's gonna be your best bet if you can't afford a new cluster.

I haven't used a soldering iron in a long time. Last project I used it on was my Jeep about 5 years ago.

Hot Sauce, if you'd be willing to look into it, by all means go for it. I can't really drive the car that far right now because can't tell how much gas I have and occasionally how fast I'm going.

Thanks for help guys.

I just did my cluster in my 2005 impala. I'm not going 110 any more. To tell you the truth I wanted to order one on eBay but I decided to give it a try. You just need some resolder braid. What I did was clip the prongs as close to the circuit board and then added just a little more solder to each connection. Afterwards I took the braid to all added solder and with in a minute I was soldering the new motor in. If your feeling frisky do your bulbs. I was pressed for time so I didn't do it and now I have a bulb out. Depending on how many guages you have will determine how long it will take to fix. I spent 1 hour and 30 minutes from removal to reinstall. Good luck.

I have an issue with my temp gauge not resetting when starting up the car. I replaced the motor myself but it didn't fix the problem Sad

i think the only gauge on mine that is reading right is the speedo and odometer. the temp is normally pointing to hot as hell (straight down) the tach is weird the boost is even off., i dont see all these gauges going bad at once. im thinking its a connection issue. bad grounds can cause all sorts of problems. but i have no experience with the imapala so it could just be bad motors

I believe I have a couple extra 6-Gauge clusters...they are used. I'm not looking to get rich.

PM me if interested.
