Last Tuesday the Impala sadly saw it's last day on the road. was heading north on a main road when a vehicle from the right, trying to make a left turn, found it's way to my vehicle hitting my passenger doors. He was coming out from a private lot and was trying to see among the massive line of vehicles on his side of the road after someone motioned him out. Obviously he decided to pull out at the wrong time.

After getting a hold of his insurance company (after they decided to take their sweet time getting a claim number and a rep assigned to me) after assessing the cost of the damage totaling around $3000, they considered it totaled... This was after the battery died and trying to jump it resulted in frying the starter. I just decided to just take the check they gave me and let the impala go after it's long journey it had with me.

I'm now currently in the hunt for a new vehicle to assist in my transportation needs... I have a couple options planned out and going to see them Tuesday and see if they look as good as they sound any suggestions are considered if you have any to share... here's the photos i have from the accident scene after i pulled into the lot and when i left after it was left at the shop and i collected my stuff

Holy s**t man, I'm really sorry to hear about this. But the most important thing is that your okay, impalas can sure take a major beating in a crash. I mean I am assuming you got out perfectly fine. Good thing the guy had insurance and I would say that's a good amount to at least start with another car. I know how you feel though, I've been hit two times in the impala. One in the driver side fender and then the passenger rear door, it feels very overwhelming to get out of a crash alive. Like someone else has said, cars are replaceable lives arnt.

What's the plan with the impala? Junkyard, parting out, or rebuild? I'm guessing not a rebuild because it looks like the car hit right you right in the center at the b pillar ruining the unibody. But from the sounds of it you already let it go? Are any of your options for the new car an impala?

Damn man... This is sad stuff. I feel like impalas are biting the dust here lately.

Again glad to hear your okay!

I agree completely. at the end of the day the car can be replaced, not a life... The impala has made it's way to the junkyard. I'm going to try and find out where it was taken to. The unibody frame was tweaked so obviously it was considered totaled right away. your correct for the b pillar being tweaked and obviously the doors as well... couldn't get those things open at all sadly

I have a couple options I'm looking for as far as a new replacement car but so far with me being stubborn on finding a w-body with a 3.8 :-p... I have a bonneville SSEi I'm looking at. it's an upgrade from what the impala was and I'd finally have a s/c 3.8 since i was originally planning on top swapping the Impala from the get go, so i might as well purchase one with it done already if i can.

Didn't have any stock replacement parts for the engine mods I had sadly what was in the engine is with it (intake, headers, exhaust, roller rockers) parts that were pulled were the grille, weather tech vents, and my radio. If I can find what lot they took it to I'm gonna be pulling parts off.

haha ya gmpp isn't available anymore... Couldn't take anything i couldn't replace with stock like I said so it sucks that all the mods are with it... If I do some parts i'm gonna be using are for cores or send in for parts... Next vehicle will have boost on it so I can't say all of the parts will be able to be sold Wink

Yeah, but the folks that actually wanted to do something with the car other than drive it are rapidly dumping their cars...

Not me... keeping my impy forever. Even if there is no value money wise to it at the end. Its not about that, its about the memories I had in that car. To me nothing compares, miss driving it everyday.

Really hope this forum stays alive, I still put out business cards/fliers ever time I see an impala. Talk to people about the site, hell Im on it all the time.

I really want a NAIOA calender Wink
